Portland's John Larsen has been performing, recording, and self-producing albums for more years than he'd care to admit. His songs are written and recorded in basements and attics in the greater Portland metropolitan area, occasionally enlisting the help and talents of friends and acquaintances. John's live band consists a crack team of sonic crusaders of dubious distinction accompanying him on some of the meatier tracks (as his experiments in growing extra limbs did not pan out as planned).

His 2003 album Kismet received kudos and acclaim across the board despite its quiet release and relatively small promotional campaigns, and his track on the 2005 Greyday compilation 20 Nights of Wine and Song ("Drift") received possibly the most attention and highest praises in the indie press. He is currently working on new material.

John also paints, writes, and has actually built a prestigious professional career making puppets.
